Parents,

Just a reminder that all name shirts were sent home for a cleaning on Friday and are due in class on Monday.

Tuesday, September 30 is a NO SCHOOL day.

I will be sending Math homework with the children on Monday.

You might want to send your child to class with a cardigan or sweatshirt. The room goes from warm to cold and it is difficult to adjust the temperature to a comfortable level.

Library books are due on Thursday.

Welcome to a new school year! Second Grade is going to be very busy and exciting. We are already in full swing with our schedule.

Just a few notations. . .

Please check your child's book bag daily. There may be some important letters you need to read or return. (Homework)

All classroom supplies are now due in the room. Name shirts
will be sent home every two weeks for a good washing. They will need to be returned on the following Monday.

Please continue to send in a healthy snack with your child.
Water bottles are welcome. No juice is allowed. We are also near a water fountain.

You might want to have your child bring a cardigan or zip up sweatshirt to school. The air conditioning is a bit fickle--sometimes it gets warm and muggy and at other times it becomes rather cold. Layering is a good idea.

Red home folders should be placed in book bags for school each night. It is helpful to put the book bag by the front door so they can grab it on the way out. All homework should be in the red folder.

The chicks began arriving this Monday, April 28th! We had a total of 12!
They were all healthy and peeping! The children were able to view them in
the incubator, as well as their temporary home. On Friday, the children all
had a chance to watch the chicks walk around, touch and hold them.
We found a great farm that wanted to adopt them on Friday. I think it
was a great experience for all of the children, and I know they were thrilled
watching the life cycle of the chicks.

Just a reminder that our Open House is on Tuesday, May 6th at 7:15.

The concert will begin promptly at 7:45.

Please return all library books on Monday.

Mid-terms went home today. Please sign the envelope, and return it to school as soon as
possible. Thank you.

Name shirts are due Monday morning, as well as all library books.

Mark your calendars! Our spring concert is on Tuesday, May 6th. Open House is at
7:15. The concert begins promptly at 7:45.

Just a reminder that name shirts are due in class on Monday morning, April 14.

All library books are also due at that time.

Since spring has been rather chilly, please remember to send your child with
a jacket. The children do go outside for recess, weather permitting.

The children are in need of the cardboard roller that is inside each roll of
paper towels. If you are throwing out any rolls this weekend, please send
them to school with your child. We need them to make flags at a center for next week.
